Introducing our inquiry topic -

Our inquiry topic this term is Natural Disasters.
For the first week we are learning about the weather.

We built on our knowledge from last term when we learnt about Earth and space. We learnt that there are 5 layers of the atmosphere around Earth.

We learnt that the weather we have forms in the troposphere which is the layer of the atmosphere closest to the Earth. We live in the troposphere.

We watched a Youtube video about weather and we learnt lots of new words about weather.

We learnt about air pressure, moisture, temperature and wind speed. These 3 things are measured by Barometer, weather balloons, thermometers and anemometers respectively.

These conditions change and in different combinations make up different kinds of weather. Storms and some natural disasters can happen because of these weather conditions.
